all about Tara

TN Cropped HeadshotREThink Real Estate Founder & Chief Visionary Tara-Nicholle Nelson is a study in apparent contradictions. Her fondness for discussing the intricacies of real estate contracts and negotiations is paralleled only by her encyclopedic memory of Six Feet Under episodes.

Tara’s approach has been described as Oprah meets Chopra meets Kiyosaki/Trump – she is an accessible, relatable, sometimes humorous, yet expert guide, helping women directing their energy and actions toward ongoing, concrete real estate, money, life and business practices to manifest whole-life prosperity.

To meet Tara is to want to hang out with her. Should you get the urge on your first meeting (as many do) to share your personal problems with Tara, she is highly likely to prescribe an effective solution – be it a good estate planner, a good Thai restaurant, a good eyebrow waxer, or a good book on tax strategy! Equal parts real estate guru, connection broker, therapist, and girlfriend, Tara is redefining what “expert” means to women interested in real estate.

Overcoming Challenges. Tara-Nicholle Nelson’s guiding principle has always been to think about life differently than others. In that vein, as a 16-year old mother of two in the Central California Valley, Tara defied the conventional wisdom about teen moms and completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology at the California State University. In 1998, she transformed her life by losing 60 pounds, leaving an abusive marriage and moving her kids to the Bay Area so she could attend the prestigious University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).

As a 25-year-old single mom, Tara was fresh out of law school – she hadn’t worked in three years and had only $3,000 to her name. Nevertheless, despite the negativity and objections of her own real estate and mortgage brokers, Tara triumphed in the expensive Bay Area real estate market and successfully purchased her first home – a little rancher on a street called Prosperity Way. Soon, she had spent a decade honing her negotiating instincts and problem-solving skills during a multifaceted career focused on psychology and the law.

Success and Snowballs. Inspired in part by her own struggles during homebuying and her observations (as a lawyer) of real estate deals gone wrong, Tara-Nicholle Nelson quit her law practice and began selling residential real estate in the East Bay Area. After a couple of years of keenly observing and resolving her clients’ common stresses {and distresses}, Tara realized that several key niches, especially women and investors, were significantly underserved by the industry at large. With this in mind, she melded insights from her psychology background, legal and negotiating savvy, and property expertise to innovate a high-touch, education-focused real estate practice.

Tara’s ground-breaking client education system injected predictability, calm and control to her clients’ real estate process and helped her coach many women home buyers and investors to success.

From her own path from teen mom to real estate broker, attorney, speaker, author, and publishing/media entrepreneur, Tara-Nicholle Nelson learned firsthand how to harness the power of a single success at a life goal (like property ownership) to create a lifelong lifestyle of personal evolution.

Once her system was up and running, Tara noticed that many of her real estate clients were using the confidence-building effect of their real estate successes to confront previously daunting challenges in other areas of their lives. Tara soon realized that she could use real estate as her medium to help other women generate a transformational snowball effect and consciously design their whole lives.
